What is llms.txt?
A plain-text file at the root of your site (/llms.txt) that gives AI agents a short summary of who you are and links to your most useful pages, in a format proposed at llmstxt.org.
Does llms.txt make ChatGPT recommend me?
Not on its own. It is a small, cheap signal that helps AI agents find the right pages. What decides whether AI names you is the content of your pages, who else mentions you, and whether AI crawlers can read your site — which the free audit checks.
How does the generator choose pages?
It reads your sitemap (or your home page’s links when there is none), skips legal, login and duplicate-language pages, reads up to 20 pages and lists them with their titles and descriptions.
Where do I put the file?
At the root of your domain, so it opens at yoursite.com/llms.txt. Most CMSs let you upload a file to the root; otherwise ask whoever hosts your site.
